ARCA will directly contribute to improving the quality, content and methodology of peace education and training in conflict transformation across Europe through the gathering together of best practices, exchange of methods/curriculum, development of resources and guides and establishment of a European-wide data-base of peace educators and peace education resources. After two years, the ARCA project has now come to an end. We would now like to draw your attention to outputs of the project which can be of interest for your work and are now available on this ARCA - Peacetraining.org webportal:
1. The Guide to Peace Educators is a comprehensive overview of actual practice of Peace Training in Europe and at the global level. It looks at what is being done to train people for peacework and what can be done to improve the quality and content of training. Download the Peace Training guide - in English (.PDF - 11MB). Also available to download for free in: French/Français (.PDF - 8,4MB), Spanish/Español (.PDF - 8,9MB), in German/Deutsch (.PDF - 10MB), in Romanian/Română (.PDF - 8,7MB) and in Italian/Italiano (.PDF - 8,3).
2. The Needs Analysis: Current State and Needs of Training and Education for Peacework, both at European and country level, constitute the foundation of the ARCA work and provide valuable information on the current situation of adult education for International and Intra-National Interventions for Peace Building, Conflict Transformation, Mediation and Crisis Management.
3. Reports of each of the 3 sessions of events, with in-depth documentation on the work done, topics relevant to the field of Peace Training.
4. Read also the Lessons Learned Report called Paths to Peace Education in Europe. Experiences, Lessons Learned and Opportunities (.PDF)
The webportal www.peacetraining.org is at your disposal as a powerful tool for building up a network of Peace Training organisations in the near future, in order to make the results of the ARCA partnership sustainable over time and to share them among a wider audience.
We would deeply appreciate if you -as an individual and/or an organisation- would join our virtual community towards a Network of European Peace Trainers, share your experience, promote your initiatives and discuss the result of our work in order to improve the quality of peace training in Europe.
