A systematic needs analysis carried out in Europe to assess (1) the current state of peace training in Europe and (2) the needs of target groups, educational institutions and communities regarding dealing with conflicts and conflict transformation and how these can be met through peace training.

Nature and Content: Series of 3 events combining seminars, workshops, conferences and trainings on best practices and lessons learned for content, methodology and pedagogies of peace training on:
a. Civil Peace Intervention – techniques of nonviolent resolutions of conflicts in crises situations;
b. Intercultural Communication - methoods for using communication and a mechanism for conflict transformation at the community level;
c. Nonviolent Peaceforce Core Training - a high professionalized training to prepare field team members for deployment to conflict zones.

A pan-european interactive internet web-portal with training resources, a platform for a European virtual community (also a follow-up instrument for trainees in the pilot trainings) and links to European and global sites on peace education, peacebuilding and conflict transformation.
