Make part of the European Network of Peace Educators by joining the Peacetraining Community and you will be able to post your questions or comments about all these issues in the electronic Forums.

The survey conducted at the start of the ARCA project emphasized the need for exchange of views and practices, and put the emphasis on the practical aspects of training.
In this view, the following documents and resources focus on practice-oriented research and studies, and on opportunities to network and meet between training practitioners.
    •  Quality standards
      • The Caledonian University compiled guidelines for good practices in designing and conducting assessment Click here to access them. 
      • The Training Village provides a platform for research and discussion for the European Vocational Education and Training (VET) in Europe. Resources are available with regards to funding, good practices and research projects.

    • Training material
      • Peaceworkers UK has developped a description of the Core Skills they consider essential for Peacework and the vocational standards associated with them. These core Skills can be the basis for some training. You can download them here (.DOC - 250kb).
      • Daniel Hunter and Georges Lakey have developed an extensive training manual for third party non-violent intervention. Some parts of this manual are available for free. Pleas ckick here to learn more about it.


    • Existing European Networks
      • Bringing together 94 Member Organisations, the mission of the Nonviolent Peaceforce is to built a trained, international civilian peaceforce committed to third party non-violent intervention. The NP Europe office also acts as a focal point for fundraising and European advocacy.
      • The European Network for Civilian Peace Services is a network of NGOs which promotes Civil Peace Service as an instrument for Conflict Transformation  through research, advocacy and awareness raising as well as through training, recruitment and deployment of civilian professionals/volunteers.
      • ARCA Partnership 
      • Conflictsensitivity.org aims to inform on issues of conflict sensitivity and encourage further thinking and discussion on how humanitarian, development and business operations – on the project, national and international level – interact with conflict.
      • the European Group on Training provides training for the European Union's effort to deploy qualified, and trained civilians for the civilian aspect of crisis management. The project will be relaunched in the coming months.
      • ALPICOM is the 'sister project' of ARCA. APLICOM provides the opportunity for training  organisation to exchange experience and techniques through exchange of trainers. For the results of this project, please contact Bernardo Venturi at b.venturi(@) pacedifesa.org

      • The Geneva Centre for Security Policy offers free online training on the European Security and Defence Policy. Click here for more information. 
      • Berkeley University offers free podcasts of their lectures on Nonviolence. You can download the first part here. The second part is available here.
    • Recruitment
      • The excellent study from Carig Zelize, Skills, networks and knowledge: developing a career in International Peace and Conflict Resolution is available for download on the ACP website, and gives a good overview of the skills and knowledge necessary to work in the Peace field.
